That's the reason it's so cheap, they are the only 2 people there.

The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office have an advisory out for Egypt and that has frightened a lot of folk from visiting anywhere in Egypt. Details can be found here

I stayed at this hotel last may, and it was fantastic, and that was not long after the protests broke out. There was no trouble and the hotel was packed with uk, american and German tourists. It's far away from those places considered a threat. Just check out its reviews on trip advisor. There is no threat to this hotel or its surroundings. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g297549-d602139-Reviews-The_Grand_Makadi-Hurghada_Red_Sea_and_Sinai.html

Oh, I do agree but my point was that a lot of people are scared off by the unrest in the country, as "Savo" suggests, and so I still suggest that this level of discount would not be available if they did not need to fill empty rooms.

Nonsense - sea temp is higher now than at any time of the year in the med (21C)

Avg land temps around 25C

Mind you, we went in November and played spot the tourist. It was a ghost town with more street cleaners on the streets than tourists.

Just got back from Hurgada, stayed at the Royal Makadi Beach (5* ?). Very disappointed. Drive from airport was like being in a war zone. Half completed hotels everywhere, no one working on them. Weather okay but quite windy most days. Big issues with sun loungers, no not towels put on them just disappear at night to be brought back in the morning. To be fair, not the Germans this time but some other nation pretty close. Buffet style meals were more like canteen meals. Even at this price, wouldn't tempt me back - ever.

Let's not try to confuse onlookers here. Different hotel you're reviewing. The half finished hotels are in the center of Hurghada and not nearby to the Grand Makadi. Miles away. The food at the hotel offered here is fantastic. Ive even got photos I took of the presentation they put into making it all look nice ( as well as taste )

Hey! I'm not trying to confuse anybody, just giving my opinion of a holiday in the same bay and star rating. If it worked for you fine. But in all honesty, after two days I couldn't wait to get home.

when getting weather stats please try using real time data and not stats from holiday brochures who often deliberatley 'calibrate' the weather to sell more holidays!

deary me! you do realise weather changes by the day so useless as a guide to average weather conditions.

you compounded it with giving a bbc 'current' weather forecast. BBC are always useless at real time forecasting for 5 days. many a time I have been on hol and BBC state rain / 23C etc for the next week and its 35C+ and sunny all week.

Also, I didnt use a brochure!
