326° 'Make us an offer' Clearance Sale @ B&Q Swinton

I don't know if this is at every B&Q store, but I was at the Swinton branch today and they have a large clearance section at the front of the store. They are desperate to get rid of the stock so have signs marked on the clearance range saying: "Make us an offer, any reasonable offer accepted" (see pictures) basically you get to haggle the price for items, which is done at the till. Things were going for dirt cheap and I got things as littles as 1p. worth a look

B & Q stores have until the end off tomorrow to clear through all the clearance stock, they will accept offers because if they sell the stock they get "margin support" from head office which means no money is lost at store level. if they skip it (which they will have to do after tomorrow) the store loses the whole value of the product and will show bad figures for that store.

Just a heads up that tomorrow you will get anything for next to nothing.

Sounds good, do you know if this is at all B&Q stores? Also what kind of items are in the offer??

it should be in all stores. our local one was accepting down to 10% of the ticket price today and i'd guess it will be lower tomorrow

They were doing this at mansfield and were selling kitchen doors for 50p and blanks of wood for 50p too. They had loads of extras like duckting for 25p and the box price was £35

Derby Superstore had this, although they would not reduce the garden structure i wanted that was ex display, glad they never though a Wilinsonplus have it cheaper and brand new

Just be careful though as it will go through at full price if you don't tell them it is on the offer selection

I've been trawling my local B&Qs over the past few days, trying to get together bits for a garage conversion into a granny flat. My best bargains are (so you know the sort of things you might get):

Integrated fridge freezer, unbranded, ex-display but perfect - was £399, got for £60
Zanussi compact dishwasher - marked £149, got for £60
Seattle complete toilet apart from seat £2
Bidet £1 (for the sis-in-law's Victorian semi, not my garage!)
8 packs of natural stone floor tiles - went through the till at £200-and-odds, paid £16
Loads of really expensive cabinet handles, various stiles, £1 each (were up to £25)
Ariston stainless steel splashback - 10p
Stainless extractor chimney - £30
Zebrano bathroom cabinet - was £169 apparently - paid £15
Oak cornice/pelmet - was £45 a strip, 50p (Scunthorpe)
Dozens of lightbulbs for 10p, stainless sockets and switches for £1 (cooker switch for 40p - they're normally £30ish). Paint tester pots 2p. Had to restrain myself from buying tons of tat "in case we ever need one"!

It varies massively what store you go into though - B&Q in Doncaster, and in Sheffield Darnall had loads of brill stuff, and marked it down really quickly as well as being really pro-active to get rid. I went to Barnsley and Dearne Valley today in the hope of finding a washing machine, and loads of stuff that had been 1p or 10p in Donny, Scunny or Worksop was still marked at about £3, and no staff around trying to get rid like they were in the other stores.

Best sale I've been to in years. Well worth a visit!
